The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie
Saturday, September 4th, 1:00-4:00 Civic Center Music Hall, 201 N. Walker in downtown OKC Enter through the northwest stage doors. Possible call-back audition Sunday, September 5th, 2:00-4:00 ... Actors should be prepared to read scenes from the script. This production will require proficiency with British accents.
CHARACTERS: Mollie Ralston - a newlywed in her late 20s Giles Ralston - her husband, in his early 30s, a veteran of WWII Christopher Wren - an energetic and neurotic young man in his early 20s Mrs. Boyle - a finicky matron in her 40s or 50s with an imposing presence Major Metcalf - a middle-aged gentleman in his 40s-50s with a military manner Miss Casewell - a single, professional woman in her 20s Mr. Paravicini - a flamboyant foreigner with an eccentric and off-putting presence, 50-60 Detective Trotter - a cheerful but authoritative young detective, slight cockney accent
ABOUT THE PLAY: Mystery/Suspence; 5 men, 3 women Under the definition of mystery, there will always be an entry for Agatha Christie. The suspense starts with a snow storm, guests trapped in a small country hotel, and a detective's search for a killer on the run. A London resident has been brutally strangled, but the suspect slipped through the fingers of Scotland Yard. The guests have all come to Monkswell Manor for seemingly innocent purposes, but the arrival of Detective Trotter arouses suspicion that the escaped killer could be among the guests planning to strike again at any moment. The Mousetrap is the longest running play in the world with over 23,500 performances since the beginning of its in the West End of London in 1952.
